Volunteer Appreciation Reception

The Plaza Arts Center hosted our 2nd annual Volunteer Appreciation Reception on Thursday, May 9, 2019. We depend on our wonderful volunteers for so many things at The Plaza Arts Center.  The Plaza recognized volunteers from The Plaza Community Center and The Old School History Museum too. We are so grateful for all your volunteer hours and dedication. Your efforts make our community a better place to live and we couldn’t exist without you! 💗

Two of our volunteers received a special honor that evening.  Kathy Stephan and her husband Pete (who could not attend the event) received the President’s Volunteer Service Award.  These two dedicate a lot of time at The Plaza Arts Center, but they also volunteer for many other organizations such as Habitat for Humanity.

Kathy Stephan received the Gold award for 2017 with 804.5 hours.  She received another Gold award for 2018 with 867 hours.  Kathy’s awards include volunteer hours for The Plaza Arts Center, Greene County Habitat for Humanity, Circle of Love, Atlas, Greene County Chamber of Commerce, Lake Oconee Community Church, Lake Area Rivers Alive Cleanup, and Girl Scouts.

Pete Stephan received the Gold award for 2017 with over 500+ hours and a Silver award for 2018 with 454 hours. Pete’s volunteer hours include The Plaza Arts Center, Greene County Habitat for Humanity, Girl Scouts, and Circle of Love.

Huge thank you to Cindy Lutini’s Catering for all the delicious food. And to our Board Members, Bobbie & Jude, for organizing the event!
