The Plaza Arts Center
Summer is upon us and the staff at The Plaza Arts Center is planning a very special event on Friday, August 16 from 7 PM to 10 PM to celebrate! The name, Meet Me at The Plaza, is not new, but the theme, Jukebox Hero Challenge, is new and so are the event details. All the details and updates will be on our Facebook page and website at plazacenter.org. Before I highlight the details, BIG thank you to Farmers and Merchants Bank for once again supporting Meet Me at The Plaza as the presenting sponsor.
Here are some of the many reasons you don’t want to miss this event!
First, this is a FREE outdoor concert featuring, wait for it, The Plaza’s very own Rainey Gallagher and The Deraney Band. That’s right, FREE, and you are welcome to bring your blankets, tables, chairs, food and drinks and pick a spot on the lawn. If you’d rather, you will be able to purchase tables and chairs closer to the stage for $25 per seat beginning July 1. Also, Georgia Butts BBQ will be selling BBQ if you want to leave the cooking to someone else. Ice cold beer from 44 Draft House & Growler Bar will also be available for purchase. Gates will open at 6 PM.
As a Plaza Partner member, you will receive an email with details about the “VIP Lounge” including free food, premium concert seating and a cash bar. Once you receive the email, please be sure to RSVP quickly so we are sure to have enough food! If you are not currently a Plaza Partner, this would be a great time to join! OR RSVP HERE >
But wait, there’s more! We want YOU to determine the entire setlist for the show. There are several ways to participate. First, starting right now, vote for your favorite songs on our weekly Facebook polls. The results will help us know the music you most want the band to play. Next, you can donate (tax deductible!!!!) to The Plaza and submit a Song Dedication or Request to be played by the band and have your dedication prominently displayed at the concert. Visit our website for complete details. Finally, at the show, your live pledges and donations (tax deductible!!!!!) will determine the second setlist.
So, the Jukebox Hero Challenge concert is FREE but we need you to actively participate with Facebook votes, pre-show website and in-show donations. Your donations will support The Plaza’s operational and programming needs. We can’t do what we do without you!
One last thing. We will be announcing several special guest performers soon. Please stay connected with us on Facebook and be sure to “like” and “share” our posts and visit our website often for updates.
Please don’t miss this event and thank you in advance for your support!
See you at The Plaza!
20th Year Anniversary Event
2019 marks the 20th year Farmers & Merchants Bank has sponsored Meet Me at The Plaza! This outdoor concert series began in 2000. Since then, FMB’s support has helped us reach thousands of people in the community. We’ve also raised tens of thousands of dollars, and we continue our mission to Connect the Community Through the Arts.
Bring your dancing shoes as this is one party on the Plaza lawn you don’t want to miss.
See you at The Plaza!
