THE PLAZA ALLIANCE FOR THE PERFORMING ARTS

PAPA was founded and incorporated as a non-profit organization in 1978 by a small number of Putnam County residents to establish performance opportunities for local interests and talents. PAPA produced its first play in 1978, and since that time has produced dozens of plays in several different venues until the opening of The Plaza Arts Center Theater in 2008. In that year, PAPA came under the umbrella of The Plaza Arts Center, Inc (formerly Eatonton-Putnam Arts Foundation, Inc.).

All PAPA productions are done by volunteers and are open for participation by anyone in the area. Plays are cast by each play’s designated director and according to play characters’ genders, ages, and types as needed. Cast calls are publicized in newspapers, email blasts, website, and by public announcements whenever possible.
